  1. Pride in our PAST! Hope for our FUTURE!

  2. Where were we? Enrollment – 165 but currently over 200. Just a neighborhood school – but now we boast a diversified, multi-cultural student body with a BOOMING Pre-K and Kindergarten. Extra curricular sports programs – but now many after school clubs such as Art, Cooking, Tutoring and a.m./p.m. CARES. What do we dream? For generous benefactors to keep our Catholic school dream alive where more parents could afford a Catholic school tuition. For a Resource Room for our Special Education students. For upgrades to our Computer Lab. For a music/instrument program/full time librarian. Where we were/Where we want to go!

  3. What we’ve done as a Marketing Team About 3 years ago, our Faculty and Administration formed a Marketing Committee to keep St. Gabriel School alive and well in the community to serve the needs of the many families that trust us to shape their children both morally and educationally.

  4. Advertised – Daily News, Public Register, South Philly Review, Acme carts. Raised money for a Billboard to advertise our school and boost enrollment. Created a school web site. Chose a theme – “Live The Dream” and placed banners around the school and neighborhood. Worked with an administrator/ parent/teacher/parishioner/team to marketour school. Sr. St. James – grants for tuition assistance & after school clubs. Met with Gary Papa from Ch. 6 Action News to promote our school. Held numerous fundraisers such as Monte Carlo nights, walk-a-thons, dance-a-thons, auctions, & carnivals. Sponsor a Student Program New Family Referral Program Worked with Dr. Therese Flaherty, Director of the Wharton Business School. BLOCS and Foundation grants Mentor to Students at St. Joseph & Drexel Universities. What we’ve done as a Marketing Team!

  5. South Philly's best-kept secret is St. Gabriel Catholic School at 29th and Dickinson streets. The children are orderly and quiet even after they reach the gate. Whenever I enter the school, everyone (students and staff) greet me with a smile and hello. They have several special programs and dedicated teachers. In such trying times we live in, it is a joy to be able to send my grandchildren off to school and know they are in a pleasant and peaceful environment and can concentrate on learning and their futures. —Constance Harris Crews Southwest Philadelphia Grays Ferry is often in the news because of drugs, crime, and racial strife. Unfortunately too many children in this neighborhood become street wise operators used by criminal enterprises leading to early entrants into the criminal justice system. However, that is not the case with the students at St. Gabriel School. Here, caring parents of all backgrounds regardless of race, religion, or ethnic origin come together because they believe this is the place their children need to be. St. Gabe’s is a light in the storm and the proverbial shining city of hope. This is a model school where peace, respect, and values are lived, and demonstrated routinely. This is where tolerance is the norm. Here is where schoolmates of different backgrounds become friends for a life time and strong educational and civic foundations are laid for future citizenship. -Mr. & Mrs. Domenic Reda What our Parents think of St. Gabriel

  6. Our Parents at St. Gabriel School • Our typical parent: • Many struggle to afford a Catholic school education but make the sacrifice. • ALL want their children to be in a safe, nurturing environment.

  7. In the words of Pope John Paul II: No peace without justice, no justice without forgiveness: this is what in this Message I wish to say to believers and unbelievers alike, to all men and women of good will who are concerned for the good of the human family and for its future. No peace without justice, no justice without forgiveness: this is what I wish to say to those responsible for the future of the human community, entreating them to be guided in their weighty and difficult decisions by the light of man's true good, always with a view to the common good. We Believe in our Future! For the establishment of true peace in the world, justice must find its fulfillment in charity. -Pope John Paul II

  8. Our Billboard says it all!

  9. Thank you for being our partners to continue to spread the GOOD NEWS at St. Gabriel School. Without justice, there can be no peace--Martin Luther King, Jr.

  10. We All THANK YOU! • The Students from Pre-K to Grade 8 thank you for helping us to “Live The Dream”.
