  7. Project Updates Seeker Tomahawk God of Chaos

  8. Project Seeker

  9. Project Tomahawk • - I have added the ability to load models in ASE format into the game. This format is easy to export from 3DSmax and I imagine other major 3d-dev environments as well. The soldiers are the only thing in the game right now that is loaded that way, but eventually trees and other pieces of scenery should be done. I need some people with a very basic understanding on 3dStudio max to work on scenery objects and the like.

  10. - Speed of the game has increased substantially since I implemented OpenGL display list. They are basically a method for storing instructions on the video card as opposed to calling them every frame. FPS has gone from about 20 to about 60 when just displaying terrain and from 2 to about 12 with all the soldiers fully rendered. It now averages 20-24 for most times in the game. There are still some graphic issues to be worked out, such as a lighting glitch that keeps popping up and a console-type section of the screen.

  11. - I am redoing the movement and planning system so as to be much more intuitive and smoother. I am still working out the details of the implementation

  12. - Sound has also been added, but right now it just makes a whole bunch of gunshot sounds. More work to be done there including 2d (or 3d if possible) sound. Maybe EAX if we are lucky.

  13. - AI has not progressed much lately. Previously I had worked on making a "highway-like" system for pathfinding, but am running into some serious problems with it. I think it probably boils down to a typo or a bad pointer. I see a lot of debugging in my future for this problem

  14. - If anyone would like to help, please e-mail me with a specific part of the game that they would like to and can help with. • Thanks, • Powell • P.S. I am CC-ing this to the current development team as well so that they can see what is going on in case they have to miss the meeting. Don't worry guys, we'll meet soon to start handing out tasks, probably right before break. Exciting times ahead!

  15. God of Chaos?
