  2. WHERE DO YOU START in making a God-Honoring, wise, sustainable, fun, motivating, empowering “First Step” Towards Equipping Parents to be the spiritual trainers in their home!

  3. It all starts with a“choice”

  4. Like right now in getting in a group of 3!

  5. “I call heaven and earth to witness that I have set before you a choice. Life or death. The Blessing or the curse. So choose life. You and your descendants…”Deut. 30:19

  6. So if you’re ready to start…

  7. DO YOU CHOOSE… Randal House’s model? Brian Haynes Milestone model? Tim Kimmel’s Grace Based Parenting model? Kurt Bruner’s HomePointe model? John Trent’s Model for creating a culture of The Blessing? Ryan Rush’s Faith Breakthrough’s Model? AWANA’s new model? Etc.? Etc.?...

  8. Or do you create your ownmodel – because as great as all those models are – they just don’t seem to fit your unique church!!

  9. So how GET STARTED? • FIRST – you made a GREAT choice in coming to the D6 Conference! That’s because here you can actually rub shoulders and ask questions to model builders! • So meet them and apply God’s spirit and discernment in learning more about the “CHOICE” THEY set before you!

  10. So how do you choose? • SECOND – Starting means going to work! THERE IS NO SHORT-CUT! • IT’S LIKE LOOKING FOR A GREAT CAR THAT MATCHES YOUR FAMILY’S NEEDS, YOU NEED TO lay SIDE-BY-SIDE a number of approaches, tools, methodologies, strategies… BUT – you need enough knowledge about “cars” (or models) to be able to evaluate them!

So how do you choose? • THIRD – ONE way to build up a base of knowledge SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE A GOOD CHOICE AMONG MANY is by reading what we learned atthe National Innovations Alliance – • 12 churches – 2 years – seeking a common language – and urging people to come up with a MODEL that worked at their church!

  13. So that’s your first step… going to school to get strengthened with information to help you pray and evaluate different models…

  14. BUT FOR THE REST OF THIS SESSION… HERE’S WHAT I REALLY PRAYED YOU’D SHOW UP FOR…

  15. MY GOAL IS TO TEACH YOU HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN UNIQUE MODEL… FOR YOUR OWN UNIQUE CHURCHif that’s what God’s calling you to do!

  16. For example – what if YOUR church wants to link spiritual formation for adults AND children together

  17. 1) Start by building a Family Intentionality DNA team… THESE ARE PEOPLE AT YOUR CHURCH YOU’RE DOING LIFE WITH WHO BELIEVE EVERY KID, IN EVERY HOME, DESERVES TO KNOW THAT JESUS IS CRAZY ABOUT THEM…

  18. 2) Teach them Storyboarding

  19. 2) Teach them StoryboardingWhy?Because storyboarding is the best tool I’ve ever seen to take a huge, multi-piece project and turn it into something YOU CAN DO!

  20. 3) Together, YOU’RE GOING TO Storyboard out YOUR goals and dreams for YOUR unique church’s ministry to families… -
