  12. Concept Development Meeting • Purpose • Agree and consider the broad exercise concept • Consider the need to conduct an exercise • Inputs • Exercise scoping documents • Outputs • General agreement on the exercise concept • Information to draft the Exercise Plan

  13. Initial Planning Meeting • Purpose • Agree on exercise details, such as aim, objectives, scope, participants, draft scenario etc • Inputs • Draft Exercise Plan • Outputs • Broad agreement on the exercise details and sufficient guidance to refine the Exercise Plan

  14. Mid Planning Meeting/s • Purpose • Endorsement of the Exercise Plan • Agree on exercise management arrangements • Inputs • Exercise Plan • Draft Scenario Documents • Outputs • Management of issues that arise during the design phase

  15. Final Planning Meeting • Purpose • Review all exercise planning and confirm that planning is complete • Validate scenario and document • Inputs • Completed Scenario Documents • Outputs • Identify outstanding issues and allocate responsibility for resolution

  16. Post Exercise Meeting • Purpose • Finalise the exercise and related activities • Review the draft Exercise Evaluation Report • Inputs • Debrief Minutes • Draft Exercise Evaluation Report • Outputs • Exercise Evaluation report • Guidance on implementation of recommendations

  17. Group Activity • In your syndicate groups: • Identify the planning meetings required to design, conduct and evaluate your exercise • Identify the outputs that you would expect from each of these meetings
