  2. How to make fermented root beer first you take a ginger plant and put it in water with sugar.

  4. Step 3 After a week it should become slightly bubbly and pleasant smelling. At this point it is ready to be used in your soda making. If you are not going to use it all right away, you can cap it and keep it in your refrigerator until you are ready to use it.

  5. Step 4 Add sassafras root, sarsaparilla root, burdock root, licorice root, astragalus root, water, brown sugar, and soda culture. Add water to a pot and add your roots.

  7. History Root beer has its origins in what is referred to as small beers.
