  11. OUTCOME 1: FROM DATA TO INFORMATION • Data Validation • What are the different types of validation? • How is efficiency measured? • How is effectiveness measured? • Why is validation important when using spread sheet software?

  12. OUTCOME 1: FROM DATA TO INFORMATION • Formats & Conventions • What is a format? • What is a convention? • What’s the difference between the two? • Be able to list some common conventions that are used in spread sheets & graphic representations. • Testing techniques • What are the characteristics of an effective solution? • What is the difference between testing & validation? • What ‘tool’ can be used when testing for functionality?

  13. OUTCOME 2: NETWORKS • What is a network? • What do you need to have for successful communications? • Sending/receiving, communications devices, communication channels/transmission media. • What are the advantages & disadvantages of using a network?

  22. OUTCOME 3: ICT IN A GLOBAL SOCIETY • The exam also revisits the PSM – Problem-Solving Methodology • Analysis • Design • Development • Evaluation • In Unit 1, we only covered Design & Development so familiarise with what is required in these particular stages (Chapter 4)

  23. OUTCOME 3: ICT IN A GLOBAL SOCIETY • Formats & Conventions are revisited again, however you should have covered these in the previous slideshow. It won’t hurt to go over them again briefly. • Formats & Conventions • What is a format? • What is a convention? • What’s the difference between the two?
