  5. Membership Activities’ overarching objectives • Create awareness of the IEEE’s values to members through better communication and articulation of our value proposition. Focus on web delivery • Regularly engage our members so that we listen and understand their needs. • Identify our gaps and seek proactive ways to enhance our members’ experience

  7. Section health is extremely important. You are our frontline leaders. As of 31 Dec 2012 • 57 Sections (0 formed in 2012) • 17 Sub-sections (0 formed in 2012) • 6 Councils (0 formed in 2012) • 515 Chapters (24 formed in 2012) • 958 Student branches (108 formed in 2012) • 202 Student branch chapters (71 formed in 2012) • 60 Affinity groups consisting of: • 28 GOLD Affinity groups (1 formed in 2012) – 50% • 25 WIE Affinity groups (2 formed in 2012) – 44% • 5  Life Member Affinity group (1 formed in 2012) – 9% • 1 Consultant Network Affinity Group • 1 HKN Affinity Group

Members from 21 countries in R10 are eligible for e-membership The e-Membership option is available to new and renewing members who reside in countries where the per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) does not exceed US$15,000 (per United Nations Guidelines). This assessment is the same whether you choose electronic or traditional membership

  11. R10 Membership Activities offers 26 grants, awards & recognition, and contests to R10 sections and members - on top of the HQ-level activities.

Life Members Activities • R10 Life Members Comm. is to be formed soon including non-life members for collaboration among generations • Forming Life Members Affinity Group is encouraged • There are 80 LMAGs worldwide. In R10; New South Wales, Bombay, Tokyo, South Australia, Kansai ( in forming order ) • Encouraging elderly members to obtain Life Member status in the future is very important • Enhanced publicity of IEEE Life Member status (1st webcast, etc.)

IBSC Activities • To conduct surveys in different countries for the types of benefits that members will be interested in and to communicate the IEEE benefits. • To solicit ideas from the Sections on what they want for individual benefits and services and to reward outstanding Section membership activities. • To propose two new R10 benefits for IB&SC review and recommendation to MGA board.
