In this study, students will explore the history of U.S. presidential inaugurations, focusing on how these ceremonies reflect the values of the presidents and the nation. Through an examination of the choices made by leaders like George Washington and the evolution of inaugural practices, students will investigate the significance of citizen participation in the process. By analyzing various inaugural ceremonies and their changes over time, they will gain insight into how technology has facilitated engagement and how each presidency's style is represented through its inauguration.

Presidential Inaugurations Students will examine the inaugurations of past presidents in an effort to determine how those ceremonies reflected their values. Students will investigate the impact of citizen participation in the inauguration process.
