WIRELESS NETWORK SETUP • What is wireless networking? • Communication btw at least two computers • Excludes the use of wired cabling • Utilizes standard network protocols • Type of Wireless Networks • Access point/base station • Network Interface Cards • Can connect to a wired LAN • Sharing resources (file servers & connectivity)

WIRELESS NETWORK SETUP CONT’D • Wireless Network Type Utilized for Installation • Dedicated Hardware Access Point (HAP) technique • Supports the 802.11b/g networks(11/54Mbps) • Hardware • Base station/access point • Broadcasts high frequency radio signals • Patch Panel • Switch Uplink • Cat 5e cables
