Split the question into two parts: DESCRIBE - What exactly did you do in each method (4 marks) EXPLAIN - Why you used these methods (2 marks)

  4. Remember the Key Words: - VALID - RELIABLE - ACCURATE - STRAIGHT FORWARD TO INTERPRET - OBJECTIVE (FACT)

  5. Example of Starting Off your answer “In order to collect information on my performance in Badminton, I used a number of different Data Collection methods. 7. Part (a) An Explanation of your Strengths for two marks (give at least three strengths) An explanation of your Weaknesses for two marks (give at least three weaknesses) This comes from the data you have collected using the general data methods (Movement Checklist, Stroke Analysis, Knowledge of results) Part (b) An explanation of your Development Needs for two marks (what your chosen skill is, why it’s weak, which parts of it?) This comes from the data you have collected using the Specific Data methods (Scatter Diagram and Model Performer Checklist)

  8. “From using a Knowledge of Results method to collect data, I was able to see that one of my Strengths in the game of Badminton was that I was staying close to my opponent’s. This was because every match that I played, I was within three points of my opponent. Another strength was shown from my Stroke Analysis Checklist. This showed that my Smash was a strength because it was powerful and fast enough to put my opponent under pressure and force them into playing a weaker shot in return, or make an error.
