  3. Three Field crop rotation • One field is planted in the autumn with winter wheat or rye • Another field is planted with other crops such as peas, lentils, or beans • The third field is left fallow • Mouldboard plough

  4. Who lived there? • Serf • Priest • Lord • Blacksmith • Miller • Crafts person • Self sustaining, made everything they needed and were able to sell surplus

  5. Lets make a Manor! Follow the instructions on the handout and work with your partner (lady & lord) to draw a map. Make sure that you include all the items on the list.
