  3. Task 1 – Look at the template for the CV – As a class, review the rest of the CV template and discuss what should go in each part. Working individually, students complete their CV. They should enter subjects without grades in ‘Qualifications’. Leave ‘interests’ blank for now. 5 mins Skills:

  4. Many employers want to know about an applicant’s interests, and gather ideas. Identify when someone’s out of work activities might count against them. Complete the mind map…. Out of work activities that may act against you! ? mins Skills:

  5. Consider if Sam is a strong applicant based on how well they have completed the form (there are deliberate mistakes and omissions). First as a class lets read the job advert then click to look at her CV – discuss as a pair if she is good or bad for the job – prepare to report back! After looking at her CV the teacher will hand you a sheet showing her online activity – complete the bottom of the worksheet! ? mins Skills:

  6. Show ‘What I do, what I like’ and discuss how interests play a vital role in enhancing a CV. Discuss the ‘whole person’. Students think of their own interests and activities and complete the ‘interests’ part of their CV using these to back up their statement. Share ideas. ? mins Skills:
