  3. Anger a strong feeling of displeasure, and usually of antagonism...often accompanied by sinful emotions, words, and actions hurtful to those who are the objects of our anger. It is usually directed at a person.

  4. Robert Jones Anger is a universal problem, prevalent in every culture, experienced by every generation. No one is isolated from its presence or immune from its poison. It permeates each person and spoils our most intimate relationships. Anger is a give part of our fallen human fabric…sadly this is true even in our Christian homes and churches

  5. Ordinary Anger Anger that happens as a result of our pride, selfishness, and desire to control.

  6. David Powlison Anger is Natural in 2 different ways: It is natural because we were Created in God’s Image (Righteous Anger) It is natural because we All Fell into Sin (Unrighteous Anger)

  7. John 2:13-16 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, "Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of trade."

  8. 3 Characteristics of Righteous Anger Arises from an Accurate Perception of True Evil Focuses on God & His Will, not Me & My Will Always Self-Controlled

  9. 1 Peter 2:23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

  10. James 4:1-2 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask

  11. 1 Peter 2:18-20 Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.
