Jesus fulfills what He said • “Behold we are going up to Jerusalem”- 11:1-13:37 • “The Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes”- 14:1, 2, 43-53 • “They will condemn Him to death”- 14:55-65 • “And deliver Him to the Gentiles”- 15:1 • “They will mock Him, and spit on him, and kill Him”- 15:2-38 • “And the third day He will rise again”- 16:1-11

  9. Ransom • Greek Word:λύτρον • Transliteration:lytron- “price of release” “The reason for this different word that the Bible only states for this one even is because it refers to a payment to effect the release of slaves or captives from bondage.”

  15. Sin is like Blindness • We don’t see God clearly • We don’t see ourselves clearly • We don’t see others clearly

  16. Conclusion • Jesus give us the focus – 32-34 • James and John are blinded by their sin- 35-45 • Jesus heals Bartimaeus and his reaction is to worship- 46-52
