Objective: Preform accurate and thorough analysis of myth poetry by correctly addressing the connotation and denotation of words. 5December 2013 English I CPA Do Now: Select an example of figurative language from Edith Hamilton’s story “The Two Great Gods of the Earth” (Hamilton 48) to share. -Nature imagery serves to reinforce the relationship of the Gods to the natural world.

Agenda -Mythological Influences -Poetry / TYPCASTT (Connotation / Denotation pg. 85 of Vocabulary Workshop Text). -Writing Prompt HW: One paragraph response to Unit 4 Vocabulary Workshop Words in Action Question #2 using 5 Unit 4 Terms (10 Points Homework).

  3. Objective: Preform accurate and thorough analysis of myth poetry by correctly addressing the connotation and denotation of words. Writing Prompt Week #1: Illustrate how Edith Hamilton’s use of descriptive language serves to characterize a mythological figure from “The Two Great Gods of Earth” (Hamilton 53 – 76). Compare the tone within Hamilton’s work to that within one of the selected poems.
