  1. Intelligent Human Emergency Life Point

  2. Who? • iHELP was conceived to deliver a socially responsible, sustainable business model to provide a smart solution to a Global concern. • Now ready to launch the first self funding, fully managed and maintained network of Publically Accessible Defibrillators (PADs). • Facilitated by our unique iHELP system which will offer education, raise awareness and undoubtedly save lives.

  3. Sudden Cardiac Arrest In recent times there has been a raised awareness of the immediate need to deploy PADs to fight thebiggest contributor to deaths across the globe - Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The facts are alarming: • SCA is the No 1 cause of death in the world today • Over 100,000 deaths / year - UK • Survival rate is low; 3%-7%, due to necessary help NOT being readily available • Without help a victim has approx. 10 minutes of life remaining • Every minute is crucial, within 4 minutes a victim will begin to lose brain function • Use of an AED raises survival from 5% up to 75%

  4. Time is of the Essence! Defibrillation an EARLY Priority The Chain of Survival

  5. “Heartsafe Smart City” Heart safe Community Programmes are initiatives which aim to encourage all communities to strengthen every link in the ‘Chain of Survival’. These are being increasingly adopted in many countries throughout the world. ‘Smart City’- In recent years, the use of new technology has helped drive improvement in major city developments throughout the world. Developments which strive to deliver; • better communication, • better environmental quality • creative and cultural richness, • a better competitive position for business • Supercharge growth from within. Both strategies highlight the growing importance of Information and communication technologies (ICTs) to engage with citizens on a local level.

  6. The Bigger Picture • Ambulance Services - 8 minute target to respond to SCA • NHS targeted to reach 75% of SCA in 8 minutes which today is practically unachievable due to congestion. • When these targets are missed, considerable fines are accrued regionally to the RAS (literally millions......e.g. EMAS was fined a total of £5M last year) • 8 Minutes is too long to prevent neurological damage to a victim of SCA • Neurological damage has an enormous ongoing cost on the public Even if the RAS hit their target, still 1 in 4 is not reached in time! Up to 26% of survivors WILL suffer neurological damage due to delayed response! When you consider that the cost of neurological damage to the tax payer can be up as much as £4M pounds per individual over a lifetime, the argument for a speedy national deployment of AED’s is extremely compelling. With failing health across the country and an already over stretched NHS, the need for sustained health focused communication has never been greater!

  7. PAD’s - The Answer?! There is an ‘all-party’ consensus within UK Government that PADs save lives and on-going debates in Westminster to make AEDs compulsory in public buildings. The costs are considerable (Just 1 PAD site) : • £1000 for an AED (5 year life) • £500 for an outdoor cabinet • £350 per year to manage and maintain each site (Training/Utilities) To provide effective coverage throughout the UK, funds required would run into many 10’s of £M’s. Unfortunately in these trying economic times the funding required to deliver an effective network is simply not achievable – so people continue to die everyday! Additionally, to deliver inline with UK scholars strategy, further resources are required to: • Raise awareness • Educate the public • Collate locations • Track usage • Deliver First Response Paging • Build a National Application database

  9. How it Works How does the iHELP unit work in an emergency? • Rescue Ready defibrillator access protected against theft and abuse • iHELPsecurity system responds to a PIN code obtained from the Ambulance Trust control centre (999 call) • Entering the PIN code automatically opens the door giving access to the defibrillator • Optional CCTV camera installed into each iHELPfor added local security By accessing the defibrillator: • An SMS/Pager message is sent automatically to the trained responders locate nearby each device. iHELP will train 10 CFR’s per unit deployed • The AED ‘coaches’ the Rescuer throughout the emergency – no training or previous usage experience is required

  10. Raising Awareness The power of the iHELP - 18” Side Touch screen • New local government initiatives • Missing person awareness • Local community information • Local traffic / travel update information • City Way finding • AED education, awareness and training iHELP will also have NFC technology to enable users to instantly download information:- • Life saving Videos • Dietary Information • Health Awareness • Council Campaigns

  11. Public Interaction iHELP Time for Change
