Tracing Recent Star Formation in Red Early-Type Galaxies

Exploring mid-IR excess as an indicator of recent star formation in red early-type galaxies up to z~1.42. Surprisingly, over 18% of massive red ETGs with Mstar > 10^11.2M⊙ exhibit excess emission, showing that recent star formation is not uncommon in these galaxies at z<1.
