OPEN LETTER TO THE PRIME MINISTER • In August 2019, lead CSOs - Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI), the Cropper Foundation, Environment Tobago and the EquiGov Institute, launched a joint campaign with the circulation of an open letter addressed to the Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago, for signature of CSOs. • The letter gathered the support of 60 CSOs in advocating for the Government of T&T to sign and ratify the Escazú Agreement. • The letter was hand delivered to the PM’s office on September 6th. • See here for the press release with copy of the open letter

ONLINE PETITION In August 2019, key partners Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI), the Cropper Foundation, Environment Tobago and the EquiGov Institute, also launched an online petition targeting support of a broader public audience.   6. NEWSPAPER ARTICLE SERIES • To raise public awareness and increase support, a weekly article series is being published in the Trinidad Express* newspaper from August to September 2019. The articles will highlight key aspects of what the Escazú Agreement is trying to achieve and why it is important. • Published articles to date: • 1.
