  2. Integrating Demand Response into the Energy Market starting on June 1, 2017 • Demand response will be integrated into the Energy Market similar to other supply resources. These changes require Demand Response Assets to be metered at the Retail Delivery Point • Retail Delivery Point is the point on the transmission or distribution system at which the load of an end-use facility, which is metered and assigned a unique account number by the Host Participant, is measured to determine the amount of energy delivered to the facility from the transmission and distribution system • Demand Response Assets can either provide: • Reduction of energy consumption from the power grid as measured from the asset’s Retail Delivery Point • Net Supply (injection) of energy into the power grid as measured from the asset’s Retail Delivery Point

Net Supply from Demand Response Assets will be treated just like generation in the Energy Market • Net Supply associated to a Demand Response Asset will be assigned to a Net Supply Generator Asset • A Net Supply Generator Asset has the same meter requirements as other Generator Assets • Required data to be settlement quality per metering requirements • Supplied within the 1.5 day submission deadline and adjusted through the resettlement submissions • Supplied typically by Host Participant meter readers

Only one meter configuration impacts Meter Reader responsibilities Behind the meter generation (DG or RTEG) Net Supply Generator Asset Facility (Demand Response Asset) Mrdp is the billing meter providing Net Supply for settlement M1 Mrdp Mdra Mdra is the DDE meter providing 5 minute data (near real-time) DG: M1 is hourly meter provided monthly RTEG: M1 is the DDE meter providing 5 minute data (near real-time)

  5. Demand Response Provider are still responsible for providing a majority of the meter data • Mdra measures the consumptions of the Demand Response Asset • Determined in 5-minute intervals by the DDE’s device receiving the demand at the billing meter • Submitted by the Demand Response Provider in near-real time • M1 measures the output of the Distributed Generation (DG) • Hourly meter data submitted to support the On-Peak or Seasonal Peak performance • Provided by Demand Response Provider monthly • 5 minute data submitted to support the RTEG performance • Submitted by Demand Response Provider in rear-real-time • Presently 2.5 day submission deadline (will change to 1.5 day) and adjusted through the resettlement submissions

  6. Meter Readers are responsible for providing metering for the Net Supply Generator Asset • Mrdp measures any Net Supply of an individual end-use customer at the billing meter or the aggregation of individual end-use customers at the billing meter of the Net Supply Generator Asset • This will be submitted by the Host Participant meter reader for energy settlement and will be used in the determination of the load within each meter domain
