  1. WHO ARE YOU? You are becoming more of your future every day • You ARE The College Class Of 2022!!!!! • Today you are teachers • Research shows that students retain information at a much higher rate when teaching others

  2. What an amazing journey into The Amazon Rainforest (And your thinking) • Today your writing will be note-taking. You need to answer the question for each group and your own. I recommend “I” notes or Cornell Notes. Which is the BEST note-taking style? • What does Group X want? • Why do you think they want it? • Were they persuasive?

Rubric For Your Presentation • Effective use of facts and data • Clear voice, eye contact, PRESENCE • Interactive without being confrontational • High level of conviction and confidence but ALSO (this is going to be VERY important) Have you also addressed the reality of differences of opinion? • Group Grade • This is MY part of the process

  4. Self Grade Homework – This is your part of the process • Self Grade (The “X/Why” Axis) • This is an honesty test. This will be a homework assignment for tonight. It is due Friday • 2 paragraph, double spaced using facts, data and your own thinking to defend your self grade. Be sure to include • Your specific and honest contribution to the group • Facts and Data you discovered • How your thinking developed and possibly changed? • Growth in your knowledge • Did you effectively communicate using specific quotes in your presentation?

  5. The Rules? • Each group will have up to 10 minutes to present • Everyone will be respectful, quiet, studious and note-takers • You will do GR8 on the assessment by taking good notes • There will be up to 5 minutes at the end of the presentation for Q&A and fact checking
