  • An Online Digital Library with search and contact facilities;
  • An Offline set of activities aiming:
    • brainstorming to develop ideas;
    • networking and conferences to create collaborations;
    • publications to disseminate knowledge on e–infrastructures focusing their trends and implications.

Why BELIEF

  • Synergies and knowledge exchange between the research infrastructure competencies of Europe;
  • Collaborations between Europe’s e-infrastructure and those in emerging economies, Latin America in particular, and India.

Expanding frontiers means also: new user communities; creating awareness of new possibilities that e-infrastructures opens up.

  • A Common communication and knowledge Platform for all e-infrastructure Communities;
  • A portal with access to a digital library of e-infrastructure documentation and facility to Search and Contact members;
  • Networking and Knowledge Exchange between members (communities from Research and Industry) as well as policy bodies in Europe and beyond.

  • 2 International conferences in India and Brazil as a platform to exchange experiences, to show results and to learn about the development in emerging economies;

The idea

Europe-wide, or even world-wide, content repositories that will serve as infrastructure for scientific (even daily life?) activities across the continent and world.

Content-provision services offered at a large scale by charting a roadmap to establishing large-scale Knowledge Infrastructures:

  • Technical - large scale knowledge infrastructures;
  • Organisational – organizational model;
  • User-oriented – quality and ‘service’.
