  1. FTP Vs. SFTP: Know the Difference The FTP is known as the file transfer protocol and it is a technology which offers all the private sectors and businesses to receive and send the files from and to the remote system. By the use of the affordable FTP sites hosting, files are easily uploaded form the source computer towards the server to share files, keep the business continuity and backups. While, the SFTP is the Secure File Transfer which is the encrypted alternative of the standard. The affordable FTP sites hosting and the SFTP are not the same technology and they must not be treated similarly so here is the clear difference between the two latest technologies. 3 differences between FTP and SFTP: 1.Encryption:one of the bigger differences in between the SFTP and the FTP is the fact that the transfer of files whether sent or received is done with the use of affordable FTP hosting, in the unencrypted manner. It means that even the connection is secure, the process of transmission is not secure enough and the data is liable to be intercepted by any other person. 2.Firewalls:the affordable FTP server for business use only single channel for the sending of commands and receiving of the acknowledgments. The FTP needs the opening of the channels for sending the file. These channels are negotiated automatically with the server and client software but it causes the issue for the client related firewalls due to the larger number of ports that need to be opened. The SFTP is highly friendly to the client side firewalls as it needs single port for the opening of the controls to send and receive data files. 3.FTP vulnerabilities:as the FTP is a simple and convenient process to share files, it is not desirable for some organizations that need higher cyber security. Such as the username or password information of the current account used for file sharing and access is plain text but someone with the right tools can easily get it. But this is not the case with the affordable SFTP hosting because it is more secure.
