Location • Serves as a starting point by asking “Where is it?” • Knowing location helps you develop an awareness of the world around you. • Examples:
Place • Describes characteristics of geographic location. • Physical characteristics such as landforms, climate, plant and animal life. • Human characteristics such as language or way of life.
Human/Environment Interaction • How people interact with their environment. • Boundary lines • Where people settle • Interaction with wildlife
Movement • Continual spreading of people, ideas and goods.
Regions • Regions are places that are united by one or more common characteristics.
