Plug loads are a growing silent problem… • Consumers now have on average 23 consumer electronic products. • As a result, plugged-in appliances make up 40% of residential and 26% of commercial energy use. • Many appliances draw power all the time even when they are not in use. • That’s more than 100 billion wasted kWh and $10 billion in annual energy costs.
