  1. Don’t Give Jesus Directions Luke 8:40-42, 49-56

  2. Don’t Tell Jesus About Death Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. He knows death means “separation” • Body from spirit = physical death • Man from God = spiritual death

  3. He knows death means “separation” • Body from spirit = physical death • Man from God = spiritual death • Man’s spirit from God= eternal death

  4. John 5:39-40 • You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

  5. John 6:35, 40 • Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. • 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

  6. John 10:10 • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

  7. Don’t Tell Jesus Not to Trouble Himself Here’s the facts… • Jesus loves you

  8. Romans 5:6-8 • For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He didn’t wait on you to deserve it

  9. John 15:13 • Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. Jesus wants YOUR friendship

  10. 1 John 3:1 • See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. God wants HIS children

  11. Don’t Tell Jesus Not to Trouble Himself Here’s the facts… • Jesus loves you • Jesus has shown it… He “emptied” Himself Philippians 2:6-8 …who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

  12. Don’t Weep Over the Deal Undone Christians often have trouble believing… • He empowers

  13. Ephesians 1:18-19 • 18 …having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might…

  14. Ephesians 3:14-16 • For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every familyin heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

  15. Colossians 1:9-11 • And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,

  16. Don’t Weep Over the Deal Undone Christians often have trouble believing… • He empowers • We CAN press forward …For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

  17. Philippians 4:13, 19 • I can do all things through him who strengthens me. • And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We can do ALL things because HE supplies our needs

  18. Don’t Mock His Declarations - Jesus Will Get the Last Laugh • The church unimportant ? • Division in the body a small matter? • Many faiths, bodies, baptisms ok? • My obedience not necessary?

  19. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 • …and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away fromthe presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

  20. Jairus and his wife were amazed. Many at the judgment will be also. The time now is to trust and obey.
