  3. Main Makhaarij • There are 5 main categories of Makhaarij: • 1. The oral cavity Al Jawfاﻟﺠََﻮف • 2. The throat Al Halqاﻟﺤَﻠﻖ • 3. The tongue Al Lissaanاللِّسَان • 4. The lips Ash-shafatainاﻟﺸَّﻔَﺘﺎن • 5. The nasal cavity Al Khayshoomاﻟﺨَﻴﺸُﻮم

  5. The 3rd main makhraj:Al-lisan (tongue) • This is the makhraj that the majority of letters come from (18 out of 29) • That is why we call it the speech tool • There are 10 sub–makhraj in the tongue.

  6. The 3rd main makhraj:Al-lisan (tongue) • The 10 sub–makhraj are distributed over four parts of the tongue: • Deepest part of the tongue. • Middle part of the tongue. • The edge (side) of the tongue. • The tip of the tongue.

  8. 1st sub-makhraj of the tongue • From the deepest part of the tongue and what lies opposite it at the roof of the mouth (the soft palate) • Only one letter comes from that sub–makhraj which is ( ق ) • Examples: لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ۞ ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ۞خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ۞ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ ۞قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

  10. 2nd sub-makhraj of the tongue • From the deepest part of the tongue and what lies opposite it at the roof of the mouth (the soft and hard palate) • Only one letter comes from that sub – makhraj which is (ك) • Examples: أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ۞ وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ۞كِرَامًۭا كَـٰتِبِينَ۞ وَيُزَكِّيكُمْ ۞ وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۞فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَـبِّرِينَ

  12. 3rd sub-makhraj of the tongue • From the middle of the tongue and what lies opposite to it at roof of the mouth (middle of the palate) • Three letters come from that sub–makhraj which are (ج،ش،ي)

Examples on the 3rd sub-makhraj • ج : وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ ۞ تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍۢ مِّن سِجِّيلٍۢ ۞وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَسَطًۭا۞مِن يَوْمِ ٱلْجُمُعَةِ ۞ وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا • ش : وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ۞ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۞وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ۞لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ۞ لَعَلَّـٰكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ۞وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ • ي :يُرَآءُونَ ۞ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۞يَـٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ۞يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ۞ مُّصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ ۞وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
