  1. Let's Talk About Constipation!

  2. OK, so it’s not the most ‘respectable’ of topics, but for many, it’s a topic that most certainly needs addressing. Too many people are ashamed to talk about their bowel habits, but talking is essential, because it brings the topic out in the open, and allows people to work out how they can solve their bowel issues. Today, we’re going to focus on constipation. How do you know if you’re constipated? • You might think this is straightforward, and that you're constipated if you struggle to pass stools. However, there are other signs that you might be constipated. By noticing these early, you can help to address the issue quickly, and before it gets to a painful stage.

  3. Oxy Capsules

  4. Here are some symptoms of constipation: • One, or less, bowel movements per week • Pain and discomfort in the lower gut – especially when trying to pass stools • Large stools that can clog the toilet • A loss of appetite • Blood when you wipe • Stools that are rock hard or pebbly When assessing symptoms in young children, watch out for bad moods and grumpiness too, as this can be a key sign.

  5. What can you do to prevent constipation? • As with most issues, prevention is certainly better than cure. By doing the following things, you will help to minimise your risk of constipation. • Eat a diet rich in soluble and non-soluble fibre. This means increasing your intake of fruit and vegetables if necessary – you should aim for at least five portions a day, but seven portions are ideal. • Eat less processed food, especially processed meat. You might have heard the latest research that diets rich in processed meat can increase the risk of colon cancer. This is partially because the colon isn’t equipped to process this type of food. It makes the colon work too hard, and it can lead to waste sitting in the colon for longer than necessary, generating toxins that lead to mutations.

  6. A supplement like Oxy capsules can help to process these foods following ingestion. You simply take a capsule after eating processed meat, and it will help to eliminate it sooner. Clearly, it’s better to minimise your intake of processed meat, but from time to time, it’s OK, and you can minimise the damage by taking certain supplements. • Exercise more. Part of what keeps us regular is our metabolism, and our metabolism is kept optimal by out exercise regimes. To ensure that your body processes food quickly enough, you need to exercise regularly. This speeds up the metabolism and prevents food from sitting in the intestines for too much time.

  7. What can you do to get rid of constipation once it’s here? • You do have to be careful when tackling constipation. Some laxative cause a “rebound effect”. This means that they get rid of the constipation in the very short term, but in the long term, actually make the matter worse. • The best medicines for mild to moderate constipation are naturally occurring, such as magnesium (a key constituent of Oxy capsules), prunes, and water. A combination of these three will soon get things moving – but do be careful, because it can take you by surprise.
