  2. MarinKids Vision and Mission Vision: A Marin where all children are safe, fed, housed, healthy, nurtured, and educated to their full potential. Mission: We are dedicated to building a community - through partnerships, policy advocacy, education, research, expanding and leveraging resources and mobilizing leadership - that has at its heart a belief that caring for all children is our collective responsibility and acts to realize that belief.

  3. MarinKids Priority Goals Put children at the top of the policy agenda in Marin. The educational achievement gap is eliminated with all children ready for school, reaching academic benchmarks and graduating ready for higher learning. Every child has access to comprehensive, quality healthcare Childhood obesity is eliminated.

MarinKids Strategies for Action • Develop and promote a policy agenda for children in Marin and measures for community accountability • Convene and/or support partnerships that leverage resources to drive improvements on agreed upon outcomes • Research, gather and communicate data and best practices to drive decision-making and spur investments in efforts that address equity of opportunity for all children • Educate the community and voters on issues that impact outcomes for children and youth in Marin • Advocate for policy change and investments in specific key strategies and approaches that support academic achievement, child health, wellness, and safety and reduce the impacts of poverty and racial disparities

  5. Accomplishments • Marin County Children’s Data and Action Guide highlights ethnic, racial and economic disparitiesand advocates policies, strategies and investments in reducing inequities • Policy and press briefings and issue advocacy- gained support of BOS to add education as a key goal of the county, and gained endorsement of Independent Journal • Voter Guides and Candidate Forums focused on children’s issues • Working multiple partnerships: including (1)revenue initiative coalition to fund preschool, healthcare, academic enrichment and physical activity; (2) Healthy Eating Active Living Initiative to promote children’s wellness; (3) Marin Promise to activate collective action networks for education • Use social media, website to educate the public and move policy action (www.marinkids.org)
