Description on Kakadu • Kakadu is in the Northern territory of Australia,171km southeast of Darwin. • Located within the Alligator rivers region of the northern territory of Australia. • It covers an area of 19,9804 km square, extending nearly 200 km from north to south and over 100km from east to west. • It’s the approximately the same size of Slovenia, about one-third the size of Tasmania, and nearly the size of Switzerland.

  3. Brief Background • There are over 10,000 different species of insects,280 species of birds,117 species of reptiles,60 species of mammals. • Kakadu is one of the few precious places in Australia, where there has been on very limited if any extinctions of plant or animal species.

  4. Fauna & Flora • Plant & animal life is what attracts tourists the most • The will life in Kakadu is the most liveliest during rainy seasons • With over 10,00 different species of insects & 60 different mammals • Kakadu is amongst the richest in North Australia

  5. Climate • The National park has a tropical monsoon climate with 2 seasons: the dry & the wet season • Dry season from April to May to September • Wet season from October to April - May

  6. Feral animals managment • Feral animals in Kakadu were introduced by non-Aboriginal people • The animals now live & breed in the park • Among the feral animals in Kakadu are Asian water buffalos, cattle, pigs, horses, donkeys, cats, dogs, rats , mice, European bees & house geckos
