  3. “Science Education and Training in a Knowledge-based Society - SET 2010” Project objectives To promote the best European practice and to establish a partnership between the Romanian teams and the advanced networks in Europe, in the field of education, for the technical and scientific knowledge and lifelong learning To develop a regional network (both in the Balkan area and in the Est and Central Europe) aimed to increase the science teaching quality at the preuniversitar level To develop the cooperation with the „Hands-on Science” European network concerning science education through experiment (real or virtual) To encourage the dissemination at the European level of the main results regarding science education obtained in Romanian schools. Multidisciplinary approachfocused on: • The use of virtual instrumentation (LabVIEW) for real and virtual experiments (data acquisition form various sensors, PC control, European premiere) • Photonics and optics (optical spectroscopy, optical fiber communications, lasers, classical optics) • PC graphics (3D design and animation) SOUTH-EAST EUROPEAN WORKSHOP FOR HANDS-ON PRIMARY SCIENCE EDUCATION
