  3. 1772 - Die 1. polnische Teilung • Russland hat starken Einfluss in Polen (Anfang des 18. Jh.) • Polen wird von Bürgerkriegen erschüttert (→ Instabilität) • Besetzungen polnischer Gebiete durch den deutsch-römischen Kaiser Joseph II. (1769/70) → Preußischer König Friedrich II. schlägt Teilung Polens unter Preußen, Russland und Östereich vor • Teilungsvertrag am 5. August 1772 in St. Petersburg

  4. 1793 – Die 2. polnische Teilung • Polen: 1. Land in Europa mit freiheitlicher Verfassung (nach Französischer Revolution) • Drohender Einflussverlust für polnischen Adel • Zarin wird um russische Intervention gebeten • Einmarsch der russischen Truppen 1792 → Russisch-Polnischer Krieg 1792 → Niederlage Polens • Teilungsvertrag am 23. September 1793 zwischen Preußen und Russland
