TIAA-CREF ALTERNATIVE TO SOCIAL SECURITY PROGRAM • AUTOMATIC MANDATORY ENROLLMENT • 7.5% of your pay is automatically deducted. • Funds are deposited in a TIAA-CREF Money Market Account. • TIAA-CREF sends enrollment packet directly to your home. • Withdrawals may not be made from this plan while working for the College. • Withdrawals may only be made under specific circumstances noted in the memo.

Retirement Account In addition to the alternate plan, employees can elect to enroll in a tax shelter annuity 403(b) retirement account List of 10 providers to choose from on MDC HR Benefits website Employees can defer $17,000 for 2012 and employees age 50 years and above may contribute an additional $5,500 per year for a total of $22,500

  7. MDC is now Smoke-Free Effective April 19, 2011, smoking is prohibited in all college buildings and outdoor campus areas including parking lots, grounds, rooftops, plazas, courtyards, and entrance and exit ways based on Policy I-44.
