Terms Of Reference • Primary Question: • What will be the positive and negative impacts of globalization on human rights over the next 1-2 years? • Secondary Questions: • How does the presence of multinational corporations impact human rights in key countries? • What role does a globalized media play in publicizing human rights abuses? • How is globalization affecting state sovereignty, and by extension the human rights situation, of key countries?

Methodology • Analysis of Competing Hypotheses • Designed to test two hypotheses: • Globalization positively impacts human rights • Globalization negatively impacts human rights • Case Study Method • Select countries from different regions of the world were analyzed to determine impacts of globalization on human rights worldwide

  5. Overall Estimate Globalization Likely To Have Modest Negative Impact On Human Rights Over The Next One To Two Years

  6. Overall Findings • Globalization twice as likely to negatively impact the following human rights: • Life, liberty and security of person • An adequate standard of living • Globalization likely to mildly impact the following human right: • Fair and public trial
