  2. Red Chilli Whole Red Chillies are known as Mirchi in India . There are more than 400 different varieties of chillies found all over the world. The world's hottest chilli "Naga Jolokia" " BhootJalokia" is cultivated in hilly terrain of Assam in a small town Tezpur in India.

Because of its high nutritive contents, it is an important ingredient in vegetable and dhal dishes eaten in India. In India, young fenugreek plants are used as a pot herb.

The fruit of a tropical tree, tamarind is an indispensable spice in most south Indian kitchens.
