  8. First Commandment • I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me

  9. False Gods

  10. What about?!

  11. Second Commandment • You shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain • empty, useless, false, unreal, and worthless • Use God’s name positively

  12. Sacred Name • Jewish people stopped saying the name Yahweh (I am who is) • Some cultures consider the name of God so sacred and holy that they refuse to say it at all

  13. Oaths

  14. Blasphemy • To speak of God/something sacred in an irreverent or forbidden matter

  15. Not appropriate: • Ouija Boards • Horoscopes • Fortune Tellers • “In God we trust”

  16. Third Commandment • Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day (Sabbath) • Day to honor God • Sunday – Jesus’ resurrection

  17. Going to Church • Feeding our soul • Outwardly showing God that He is important

  18. Prayer allows us to build our relationship with God!

  19. Rest • Enjoy family
