  10. APB Young Researcher Awards • APB sponsors “IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Young Researcher Award”. This award honors researchers who have been very active in IEEE ComSoc publication and conference activities over the last 3 years. • ONE Best YRA with a certificate and US$500 and SEVERAL Outstanding YRAs with a certificate and US$250 • Eligibility criteria: researchers who are ComSoc members in AP, younger than 35 (include), and have been very active in ComSoc publication and conference activities over the last 3 years

APB Young Researcher Awards • Each applicant must send the application form to IEEE ComSoc APB TAC chair before the deadline. • Application form should include the followings • Applicant’s biography • A list of publication and conference activities over the last 3 years. • Description of main topics/thesis of the applicant over the last 3 years. (A4 1 page) • The cover page should contain the applicant's name, affiliation, address, telephone, fax number and e-mail address. • Important date • July 1, 2011 : Application submission due • October 1, 2011: : Announcement of awardees • December 2011 : Award ceremony in Globecom 2011. • Each application must be sent to the following address by e-mail. About IEEE ICCC2012 • The first IEEE International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC2012) will be held in Beijing, China, from 18-21 September, 2012, under the theme “Communications for a Sustainable Future”. This is a newly incubated international conference by IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) aiming at realistic globalization by extending ComSoc reach to fast-growing regions.

POCO 2011 POCO 2011 Registration Now Open !! • The registration site for the 6th annual Panel of Conference Organizers (POCO) has just opened.  2011 POCO will be held 21-23 July 2011 in Beijing, PRC and is the first in Region 10.  It presents organizers with an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about organizing international conferences meet colleagues and learn more about IEEE conferences. • If you have questions, have a topic for discussion or want to present some ideas, please contact Kevin Hanft (k.hanft@ieee.org). The Fifth IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Young Researcher Award • There were nineteen high-quality submissions from many countries. • The award selection committee was composed of all TAC members, including Takaya Yamazato (Nagoya University, Japan), Wanjiun Liao (National Taiwan University), Kun Tan (Microsoft, China), Tee-Hiang Cheng (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), and Hiroshi Shigeno (Keio University, Japan). Comprehensive review was done for three months.

  34. Global Communications Newsletter One of the missions of ISC is to provide a liaison to or publish some article in the IEEE Global Communications Newsletter (GCN). Takaya Miyazawa and Kohei Shiomoto, two members of ISC, wrote the report of the APB general meeting which was held at Cape Town in conjunction with ICC2010. The report was published in the IEEE GCN in September 2010. This article introduces the contents of the APB general meeting, missionsor action plans of each APB committee, and so on.

  41. On 1st Nov 2010 : IEEE announced its relocation of its branch office in Singapore to Solaris@Fusionopolis. Staff Fanny Su and Ewell Tan will continue to provide support services to the Communications Society. IEEE President Pedro Ray cutting the ribbon and unveiling the IEEE signage for the new office

  42. AP-RCCC at ICC 2011 • 9 June 2011 Room B-2, max 22 members In Kyoto. Approved by BoG. Now all preparations are under going by Fanny and Dr. Yamamoto, CCC vice chair. Visa problems are almost solved by E-side company support. Budget is under controlled by Dr. Oki Treasurer of APB and Fanny.
