Horizons for Homeless Children (Cheryl Ta Sze Hwee) A whole area of art materials readily available for the children Culturally sensitive pedagogy where Spanish words are found in the class to help the children facilitate in the environment The School van/ bus that fetches the children to school Toys and materials found in one of the corners for toddlers. Chalk drawing made by a child during one of the activities provided during curriculum time

  8. Brighter Horizons- One Kendall Square (Tai Jia Hui ) The physical structure within the pre-school environment aids in fostering parental-partnership. Having projects within the curriculum encourages integration learning and allows children to have fun while learning. The white boards outside every classroom inform parents and visitors the curriculum. Will economical status have any implications to the curriculum and assessment that children receive?

Brighter Horizons- One Kendall Square (Zheng Shu Ling) Children of diverse cultural background were playing together. “You wouldn’t want to wet the floor because this is not a safe place to have wet floor”. Child A took some tissue and wiped Child B dry after she accidentally spilled water on her. Children are learning about the other cultures in the classroom, which includes learning the German language This boy was playing at the computer corner. He was learning about the culture of Japan from the computer software.

  11. Brighter Horizons- East Gate (Tan Gek Ling ) Big play area for outdoor activities. Daily updates of class activities which will be emailed to parents. Assessment tool: Child Portfolio. Children’s artworks hung on the wall together with photos taken when they were working on them. Simple welcome door without any signboard about the centre as this centre is clients’ based.
