Recommendations on building sustainable Cooperation in Access and use of Natural resources Mapping of areas of Natural resources within Turkana County Establishment of research centers which will undertake follow-ups and resource centre on best practices on resource utilization Establishment of associations related to natural resources at all levels Identification of Land use committee Creation of a task force Building and empowering the relevant stake holders Building linkages for information sharing and collection among stake holders Exchange programs to enhance the market accessibility to eliminate intermediaries Lobbying and advocating for policies friendly and affirmative to the welfare of the community Promote technology on value addition on locally available raw materials Investment in capital projects and infrastructure to enhance intra and cross boarder markets.

Recommendation on averting and mitigating conflicts in Access and use of Natural Resources Comprehensive research and impact assessment to be carried in areas affected e.gTodonyang, Lomidat, geothermal projects, Tullooil exploration activities both onshore and offshore Proper mapping and safeguarding the cross boarder conflict Creating Rapport between conflicting communities Enhancing capacity of stake holders Review and strengthen of the local peace committees to reflect gender and Demographic inclusivety.

Recommendation on averting and mitigating conflicts in Access and use of Natural Resources Establish research based cooperation with like minded academic institutions leading to the establishment of the resource based capacity building /institution Establish an endowement fund to faciliitate implementation capacity building of the critical aspects of conflict mitigation programmese.grappid response funds,early warning and livelihood improvement for rehabilitation of conflict Victims.

  5. Recommendation on averting and mitigating conflicts in Access and use of Natural Resources Advocate for the establishment of cooperation between the county government and Central government with the civil society/ research institutions e.g conflict management Lobby and advocate on policies that safeguard the interest of the conflict prone community in regard to natural resources.
