  2. How we foster tolerance in our kindergarten

  3. What is tolerance • Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world-wide cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. It is based on knowledge, openness, communication and freedom of thought, conscience and belief. Tolerance is harmony in difference. (UNESCO 1995.)

  4. Where tolerance is acquired? People are not born tolerant or intolerant, but it acquired while growing up. First place to learn tolerance is a family and although the impact of parents' home to learn tolerance is the most important, powerful impact can have educational system and friends also.

  5. How do tolerant children behave? • socialize with the children different from them • include in the game and the children which are not very successful in that game • respond to underestimate to others • proudly point out their differences • respond to the feelings of others • they want to learn about other peoples, cultures, customs

  6. Through daily activities, games, didactic help we encourage children to detect and accept differences among themselves, friends, family and other people, cultures ...

  7. Our room is decorated with photos of children, their families and friends... Also, children are offered pictures, picture books, magazines, encyclopedias through that they are indroducing all types of diversity around the world.

  8. Children are exploring the similarities and differences between them.

  9. And they paint and draw themselves, their friends, family ...

  10. Symbolic games in a family center.

  14. We encourage them to help each other (older children help the younger) in everyday situations

  15. During the year with the kids we visit a nearby home for the elderly, we join into a charity events to help needy, especially other children.

He constantly, but constantly interrupt the other person ( Lovre, 5 y.o.) • It is when you are not bad child(Lucija 5,5 y.o) • I think my brother told me. It `s when someone driving you crazy, and then you do not say anything until you really do not get bored (Lucia 5,9 y.o.) • When you make someone happier ( Nika 6 y.o.)
