  3. Background • Lake Panasoffkee is the largest lake in the Withlacoochee River basin. • Major headwater of the Withlacoochee River. • Groundwater inflow is a large component of the lake’s water budget.

  6. Objective Assess the hydraulic connection between Lake Panasoffkee and the underlying Upper Floridan aquifer

  7. Approach • Establish areas of recharge/discharge potential to the Upper Floridan aquifer. • Calculate the lake water budget. • Determine the water chemistry of the lake, tributaries, springs, and groundwater system.
