  3. Chapter 9 Vocabulary • Compel: “Reading it again, however, he realized that it didn’t compel him to be rude; it simply allowed him the option.” pg 69 • What do you think COMPEL means? • TO FORCE

  4. Chapter 10 Vocabulary • Conspicuous: “But the most conspicuous difference was the books.” (pg 74) • What do you think CONSPICUOUS means? • Attracting special attention; noticeable

Are there any words or concepts that your friends/family in America (ELSEWHERE) can’t understand when you tell stories of your life? Describe some of these things.
