  4. September 20, 2009 • Bro. Kenet was anointed as an evangelist by Pas.Victor Hobday and Pas. Ruban Hobday to enhance the vision that they had on a small village named Athur situated in the outskirts of Chennai city. • On the same day the ministry started rolling in Athur. To start this wonderful ministry, a team from of Ayanavaram church came together. Pas. Ruban Hobday prayed for Bro. Kenet and family to start this wonderful and blessed mission. Bro. Kenet gave the livingword.

  5. September 27, 2009 • This was the day the Sunday school ministry was started in Athur. Almost 40 children started coming for this ministry. This happens every Sunday at 3.30pm to 4.30pm. We teach Bible verses, Action songs and biblical stories. Memory verse will help them memorize God’s word. Sunday school Teacher – Sis. Emi

  6. October 11,2009 • Since Athur church was a part of the vision of the head church UPC Ayanavaram, we will commune with the integral camps and meetings that is organized by the head church. In that way we joined UPC Ayanavaram for our family camp which is CAMP GILGAL. 15 members joined for that family camp from Athur.

  7. December 01, 2009 • We started the youth meeting on this day at 6pm. Youth from UPC Ayanavaram joined us and lead worship and praise. Bro. Kenet gave the word of God. Many of them confessed and committed that they will tell about JESUS to others in the coming days.

  8. December 13, 2009 • We started this ministry with a small gathering every Sunday evenings. However, God created a way to start the morning service at Athur on this day. Pas. Victor Hobday and Pas. Ruban Hobday prayed for this ministry and gave the promise verse from GEN 28.15 [Let God be with you today when you do anything] we started this service with the grace of God.

  9. December 19, 2009 • We had our first gospel meeting in Athur on this day. We started this meeting at 6pm by the grace of God. Bro. Brian Norman from USA gave the powerful word of God. He spoke about the anointing and the need of Holy Spirit in everyone’s life.

  10. December 20, 2009 • We had our Sunday school Christmas program on this day. The kids performed action songs, dance and skits and most importantly they said memory verse by heart. Bro. Fernando of Waves took his time to be with us on this day and distributed prizes and gifts to the children who were coming regularly for the Sunday school. It went on well by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. All glory belongs to Him alone. • After the Sunday school program, we had our second day gospel meeting at 6.30pm. Bro. Brain Norman gave the word and again he insisted on getting the Holy Ghost and spoke that’s the essential thing to commune with God and to enter His kingdom. 14 of them received the gift of the Holy Ghost and most of them were from the younger generation. Also many of them were redeemed from the bondage of evil spirits that day. God moved mightily through Bro. Norman and it was a spirit filled meeting. All glory, praise and honor belong to Jesus alone.

  11. December 25, 2009 • Athur church joined the Christmas service at UPC Ayanavaram. It was nice to be with the head church on big occasions. God’s blessing was showered upon each and every one of us.

  12. December 31, 2009 • We again joined the head church for the New Year service. It was wonderful to be in the presence of the Lord awaiting for a blessed New Year. We thank God for his abundant blessing on us.

  13. February 14, 2010 • This was a special Sunday as we had Sis. Sandhya Ruban and Sis. Sandra Subner [TOJ – Singapore] at our midst. Sis. Sandra gave the word and she spoke about repenting and getting baptized in Jesus Name. Both of them prayed for the entire church and we also visited few houses and prayed for their families.

  14. February 27, 2010 • We had our Mizpah Annual meeting at our head church. We were requested to be a part of this meeting by our head church. 30 of our ladies attended this conference. It was a blessing to all our ladies.

  15. February 28, 2010 • We joined for Mizpah Food Sale that was conducted by UPC Ayanavaram. Our ladies prepared many special dishes on that day and we won the First place with collection.

  16. April 01, 2010 • We again joined for the Communion Service and Feet Washing with our head church on Thursday.

  17. April 02, 2010 • We had our Good Friday service at Athur village. Many of them came for this service and received God’s abundant love and blessings.

  18. April 04, 2010 • We started the Easter service at 9.30am and it went on till 11am. Bro. Kenet spoke about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the service was a blessing.

  19. April 30,2010-May 01,2010JOSHUA GENERATION YOUTH CAMP • 1st Day Service took place on Friday in UPC Ayanavaram Church by 9:30 am. In this service 21 members from Athur Church took part. A girl name Abi was free from her bondage during this service. In Bonfire Service in the night UPC Athur performed a skit which was appreciated by everyone. Periyakulam Church won the Isaac Trophy in the Bible Quiz. • During 2nd Day (01/05/2010) morning service held at Scripture Union two youth boys & a youth girl were filled with Holy Ghost. Praise be to God. Bro. David Bryan shared the word of God titled “Never be Silent anymore”. It was very useful for thosewho attended the camp. In the same service they anointed Bro. Gandhi, Bro. Sam & Sis. Emima as Leaders and the Lord chose themfor His Glory. We all landed back safely to our home after the Youth Camp. UPC Athur youth team came to Ayanavaram church & dispersed in Vans to Athur after a small prayer.

  20. May 08,2010MIZPAH MEETING IN UPC ATHUR • On May 8, 2010 we had Mizpah Meeting in Athur. Sis Sandhya Ruban, and the church members of UPC Aynavaram Sis. Mahima & Sis Joyce took part in the meeting. Bro. Kenet started of with the opening prayer & followed by Worship led by Bro. Sam God presence was in abundance. It was a great blessing to all those who attended. • In the same meeting Zones were split for Athur & Leaders were chosen. Totally three zones & each have a name for it. • Zone1 is called HEPZIBA led by Bro. Peter & Sis. Stella for Vilangadupakkam. • Zone2 is called BEULAH led by Bro. Lawrence & Sis. Maria for Redhills Vadakarai. • Zone3 is called TIMOTHY led by Bro. Gandhi for Athur

  21. Sis. Sandhya prayed for all three Zone Leaders. Then Sisters from Ayanavaram Church shared their testimonies for God’s glory & their testimonies helped many who came for the meeting to increase their faith in Jesus. • Next Sis. Sandhya shared God’s word to the crowd. She spoke about the Salvation through Blood of Jesus Christ with the reference verses from the Holy Bible. Many repented & committed themselves. Two were filled with Holy Ghost & three committed themselves to Jesus Christ. Eight of them were delivered from evil spirits. The meeting was thoroughly blessed by God. Many who came renewed their spirit in the Lord. More than 54 new souls attended this meeting

  22. May 05,2010-May 15,2010VBS - 2010 • On May 10, 2010 we started Vacation Bible School & opening prayer was done by Bro. Kenet. There were around 50 children in the 1st day of VBS. We thought them Bible memory Verses, stories & songs. We gave away special prizes for the children who the told memory verses without any mistakes. In spite of hot sun children came in to attend the VBS from morning 10.00 am till 12.00 noon. We gave drinks & snacks to the kids & sent them home. • On May 11, 2010 was the 2nd day of VBS. Today children came in more numbers. Bro. Kenet started of with a opening prayer. New songs and Bible stories were taught today. Children were put into appropriate classes. There were totally Four classes.

  23. VBS -2010 • 1st class is called Beginners & teacher was Sis. Maria. • 2nd class is called Primary & teacher was Sis. Emima. • 3rd class is called Junior & teacher was Bro. Sam. • 4th class is called Senior & teacher was Sis. Shoba Kenet.. • Classes were based on Holy Bible. We finished this day by singing devotion prayer song & prayer. We gave drinks & snacks to the kids & sent them home. Totally 61 children attended the VBS today.

  24. VBS - 2010 • On May 12, 2010 was the 3rd day of VBS. Initially children numbers were little less, but after sometime they came in & joined us. As usual new songs, memory verses were taught to the kids & Bro. Kenet told some Bible stories to the kids. I was glad when I heard that we are going to the House of the Lord. Then the children were sent to their classes for their daily studies. Bro Michael Hobday and his wife Sis Hepzibah along with baby Samara Hodday from UPC Ayanavaram came for an inspection. They taught some New English & Tamil songs to the kids. Mrs. Vijaya Stephen closed with a prayer. We gave drinks & snacks to the kids & sent them home. Totally 75 children attended the VBS today.

  25. VBS- 2010 • On May 13, 2010 was the fourth day of VBS. Parents sent their children with great interest & the kids also were very happy to join us. They sang songs & they were tested orally with the memory verses & special prized were given to the kids who performed well. This happen all the days of VBS. As usual they were taught in their classes today. Finally they assembled for the closing prayer & Bro Jaikumar family gave samosas & drinks to the children. Totally 75 children attended the VBS on this day.

  26. VBS - 2010 • On May 14, 2010 was the fifth day of VBS. The children came & joined us with great interest. They sang songs & they were tested orally with the memory verses & special prized were given to the kids who performed well. Today Bro Gerald Joshua & Jabez Desilva from UPC Ayanavaram came for an inspection. They taught some new Tamil & English songs & gave some useful tips for the kids. Kids learnt it with great happiness. Closing prayer was done by Bro Gerald. We gave drinks & cake to the kids & & sent them home. Totally 75 children attended the VBS today.

  27. VBS 2010 • May 15, 2010 – This was the final day of VBS. We had our special guests from the main church, Pastor Ruban Hobday, Sis. Sandhya Ruban, Sis. Joan Samson, Sis. Mahima, Sis. Kavitha, Sis. Dhashiyani, Bro. Jabez, Bro. Benet , Bro. Durai and baby Samara Hobday. Their presence enlightened the atmosphere among the children and also ignited their spirits. Opening prayer was done by Sis. Joan Samson and we had a group photograph taken class wise. Then we had a small procession around the village with kids singing and dancing the new songs that they learnt in VBS. Then the program started with Kids singing new songs and they also shared the memory verses in front of the Pastor. After all this, the prize distribution started and we distributed prize for each and every child who attended the VBS. Vote of thanks was done by Bro. Gandhi and the closing prayer was done by Pastor Ruban. VBS was definitely a victorious event in the sight of Lord Jesus and all glory honor and praise belongs to Him alone. Amen.

  28. HOUSE VISTS • On a monthly basis, we go to the nearby places of Athur which is Redhills and Vilangadupakkam to do House Visitings. We have our believers coming from these areas and we go and pray for them. They are Bro. Peter, Sis. Maria, Bro. Rajkumar, Sis. Amirthamma, Sis. Umma and Sis. Reeta. Also every Sunday after our service, we do house visiting and prayer in our Athur village. We pray for their needs and for them to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

  29. COMMUNION SERVICE • Communion service for UPC Athur will be happening every first Sunday at UPC Ayanavaram at 5pm. We will participate and take Lord’s Supper without fail.

  30. BAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME I have listed below the members from UPC Athur who were baptized in Jesus name. They are 5 of them who were baptized and they are few more who have committed themselves to be baptized soon. • December – Bro Peter & Sis. Stella • January - Bro. Gandhi & Sis. Lydia • February - Sis. Annamuthu

  31. OUR FUTURE PLANS • Prayer walk to be conducted once in 3 months. This is planned to be happening at every fourth Sunday evening between 3.30pm – 5pm. • All night prayer is planned on every 3rd Friday night once in 3 month span from 10pm – 3pm. This prayer is especially for the spiritual growth of the church and for the believers and also for the unsaved souls to know about Jesus. • Planning to have special Sunday school program on 19th of December, 2010.

  32. Planning to have Youth special meetings on 2nd Sunday evening. This will happen once in 3 months along with UPC Ayanavaram. • Planning to have a Gospel meeting at the time of UPC Athur church Dedication. The meeting is planned to be on Saturday and Sunday evening at 6pm – 9pm.

  33. PROMISE WORD-2010 FOR CARMEL TABERNACLE –UPC ATHUR “ Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them; for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” DEUTERONOMY 31:6 PROMISE WORD GIVEN TO THE MAN OF GOD CONCERNING ATHUR “ I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word and hast not denied my name” REVELATION 3:8
