  2. Slope-Intercept Form y =mx + b Form that we can use to create an equation for a LINEAR function. Extremely Important! Contains two pieces of valuable information “m” and “+ b”

  3. y=mx+ b • m stands for the slope; + b stands for the y-intercept. (slope intercept form) m = movement b = beginning y-intercept is the number where the y-axis is touched or crossed.

  4. y=mx+ b For the function, find the slope, the y-intercept. Slope: y-intercept: Then write the equation:

  5. y=mx+ b • From the table find the equation for the linear function

  6. y=mx+ b • The points (2, 4) and (4, 5) lie on a line • What is the slope? • What is the y-intercept (another point on the line)? • What is the equation of the line?
