Lincolnshire School Funding Update • Consultation on Lincolnshire’s school funding for 2013/14 nearing completion • LA still has no indication of the funding for April 2013 • Grant for statutory obligations will be between £8 & £15 per pupil • Funding for the LA will be on the same per pupil basis as academies

  5. School Funding Update cont’d • Michael Gove’s belief is that local authorities should have no role in education. • This has implications for local accountability • Removing all funding for non-statutory provision • LCC is maintaining a core offer for schools using reserves

  6. Academy Update • As at 1 November 2012 the national figures are:- • 2456 acadamies • 1920 converters • 536 sponsored • 864 primaries 1533 secondary 57 special • Lincolnshire November Academy List

  7. Enforced conversion to Academy Ofsted Category Requires Improvement with weak Governance 400 weakest Primary Schools (currently 7 in Lincolnshire). Academy update cont’d

  12. Pupil Premium • Information on website • Evidence of Governor involvement in agreeing the use of Pupil Premium • Governors monitoring impact related to agreed key milestones • Identification and monitoring of PP as a distinct element in the budget.

  13. Ofsted Update • 20 primary & nursery schools inspected • 2 outstanding, 11 good, 7 RI and 0 in a category. • 1 secondary school which has moved from satisfactory to good.

  16. Latest News: • Consultation on Measuring Child Poverty (Until 15.02.2013). • Military Ethos in Schools • ‘..we are exploring how academies and Free Schools can use their freedoms to foster a military ethos and raise standards.’ • 450th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s Birth

  17. Latest News: • KS4 Curriculum & Examinations: • Academies do have freedom from the proposed national curriculum. • However, each subject proposed to have a single examination board and syllabus • Consultation until 10.12.12
