1. Competition = struggle with one another or the environment to survive • 2. Predator/Prey = predator eats prey • Ex. Bird eats worm • 3. Symbiosis = close relationship • Mutualism = both organisms benefit • Commensalism = one organisms benefits, the other is unaffected • Parasitism = one benefits, one is harmed • Ex. Parasite vs host Interactions among organisms

Habitat = environment in which an organism lives Niche = organisms way of life with in an ecosystem Other Vocabulary
Adaptations = change in… • Behavior • Physical characteristics • Ect. • OR • A characteristic that helps an organism to survive Adaptations
Examples • Viceroy = coloration/markings that mimic another organisms • Ex: A harmful organism (poisonous/undesirable) may mimic or act like another organism (i.e. monarch butterfly - harmless) • Camouflage = coloration to help blend in to surrounding Adaptations
