    3. INTRODUCTION International conflicts may lead to war Ways to resolve conflicts may be peaceful Military action is usually the last resort Examples of war are the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the Korean War

    4. Disputes over resources Disputes over resources is the most important reason Other factors also cause conflicts More cases of rows over resources than others Resources are needed for survival and economic growth. Some are rich in these resources while others are not

Fishing ground conflict between Iceland and Britain Fish was Iceland's most bountiful resources They extent its zone of control of fishing ground Britain refused to recognize the extended area Led to collisions between Britain's frigates and Iceland's Coast Guard Iceland broke off political ties with Britain
