    3. Major Differences Between DOSH & OSHA’s Crane Rule cont. DOSH’s Current Rule cont.: OSHA exempts Articulating Cranes (Knuckle Boom) while delivering construction materials; DOSH does not have this exemption.

    4. Proposed Addition to Crane & Rigging Rule Qualification Requirements for Riggers OSHA requires a “Qualified Person” DOSH will require written and practical exams for riggers DOSH will require re-qualification every 5 years Qualification Requirements for Signal Persons DOSH will require re-qualification every 5 years

    5. Proposed Addition to Crane & Rigging Rule cont. DOSH will require employers to have a Preventative Maintenance Program for their Cranes – OSHA does not require this. DOSH will list out the responsibilities for: Crane Operator Crane Owner Crane User Lift Director Site Supervisor

    6. Proposed Addition to Crane & Rigging Rule cont. DOSH will have an entire section for Self-Erecting Cranes; OSHA does not. DOSH will completely re-write the rigging requirements to comply with National Consensus Standards (ASME) for: Slings Rigging Hardware Below-the-Hook-Lifting-Devices OSHA did not do this.
