GA Writing • Purpose? • “Statewide writing assessments serve the purpose of improving writing and writing instruction” • Who takes it? • Students in grades 3, 5, 8 and 11 • Who administers? • Public’s interest? • Provides diagnostic feedback to teachers, students and parents about individual performance • Gives feedback on performance, strengths and weaknesses so that instruction can be tailored and preparations for future writing assessments can be made • Recent results?
