OBJECTIVE OF THE WORK • To model the DC motor. • To control the DC motor speed with conventional controlling methods. • To control the DC motor speed with fuzzy logic controller. • Compare the different speed controlling techniques.
STEPS INVOLVED • Model the system. • Design the conventional controller to control the DC motor speed. • Familiarization of fuzzy logic. • Design the fuzzy logic controller to perform better control to the DC motor speed. • Design the driver circuit to implement the control action. • Compare the different controller results.
WORKS ALREADY DONE • Modeled the DC motor. • Designed a discrete PID controller to control the speed of the DC motor using Command Window in MATLAB. • Designed a PID controller to control the speed of the DC motor using Simulink in MATLAB. • Designed the Fuzzy Logic controller to control the speed of the DC motor. • Designed the required drive circuit to implement the control action of the Fuzzy Logic controller. • Compared the results with different controllers.

CONCLUSION • The DC motor is modeled. • Discrete PID controller to control the speed of the DC motor is designed using MATLAB. • A PID controller to control the speed of the DC motor is designed using MATLAB Simulink. • The fuzzy logic controller is designed to control the speed of the DC motor. • The required drive circuit to implement the control action of the Fuzzy Logic controller designed. • The different controller results are compared.
