Ancient Egyptian Gods. Ancient Egytians were very religious. They built the temples to worship their gods to protect them in different cities. Only pharaohs and priests could enter the temples. The Egyptians gods were mostly animal heads with human bodies. Amun : 'King of the Gods'

  1. Ancient Egyptian Gods Ancient Egytians were very religious. They built the temples to worship their gods to protect them in different cities. Only pharaohs and priests could enter the temples. The Egyptians gods were mostly animal heads with human bodies.

  2. Amun :'King of the Gods' He controlled our lives.

  3. Isis:aprotective goddess. She helped people in need. Ra: the Sun god. He was the most important god of the ancient Egyptians. He travelled through the underworld at night and was reborn every morning.

  4. Osiris God of the dead, and ruler of the underworld. Judged all the dead . Anubis God of the dead. He watched how a dead body turned into a mummy and watched over the souls.

  5. Nut(F)與Geb(M): They made the world. Geb was the god of the earth. His laughter made earthquakes. Thoth: god of wisdom (writing and knowledge). He invented hieroglyphics. He was the author of the Book of Dead. He wrote down the results of the judges of the souls.

  6. Ammut: Her body was made up of hippo, lioness and crocodile. She ate the heart of the bad souls Ma'at :goddess of truth , justice and harmony. Her feather was used to measure against the dead’s souls.

  7. Hathor: Goddess of love and joy. She controlled birth and love. Horus: protector of the ruler of Egypt.

  8. Sobekwas connected with the Nile, and protected the king. Khnum controlled the yearly flooding of the Nile River.
